Knowledge Park Welcomes Corry Publishing

February 14, 2008

Knowledge Park is pleased to announce that Corry Publishing, Inc. (CPI) is relocating from their Peach St. location to 5340 Fryling Road in Knowledge Park.

Corry Publishing, a publisher of three technology magazines, Business Solutions, Integrated Solutions and Integrated Solutions for Retailers, will build out nearly 23,000 square feet of space on the 3rd floor of the Fryling Road facility to house their current 70 employees. Founded in 1980, CPI has experienced steady, consistent growth requiring the addition of professionals to accommodate the increase in business opportunities. “We’re extremely excited about this move,” said Jim Roddy, Corry Publishing’s president and general manager. “The additional space will allow us to expand our current staff to 110 employees over the next few years. And Knowledge Park also fits our criteria of being a world-class work environment that our employees can be proud of.”

Jointly developed by Penn State Behrend and the Greater Erie Industrial Development Corporation (GEIDC), Knowledge Park, a part of Erie’s Keystone Innovation Zone, currently comprises five buildings housing twelve tenants and over 500 employees. “CPI is just the type of forward-thinking company we are looking for. They are involved in information technology and systems, one of our strengths at the college, and they look for well-prepared interns and graduates,” commented Jack Burke, Penn State Behrend Chancellor.

CPI’s design plans for the space are nearing completion with build out construction slated to commence in February. With the addition of CPI to the Park, only 15,000 square feet of space remains available for lease in the existing buildings. “Knowledge Park has grown steadily since its opening in 1999,” said Monica Brower, president and CEO of GEIDC. “It has gained a reputation as a great location for organizations looking to develop knowledge-driven partnerships with other like-minded companies, Penn State Behrend, or other institutions of higher education, in order to accelerate their competitive advantage.”

The Greater Erie Industrial Development Corporation is an affiliated agency of the Economic Development Corporation of Erie County. GEIDC develops shovel-ready industrial land and facilities at a reasonable cost and is the main conduit for grants and loans through the Pennsylvania Land Recycling Act for site assessments and remediation of environmental contamination. In addition, GEIDC owns and leases space in several industrial buildings as well as Knowledge Park.
